Fertilizing and Weed Control for a New Lawn
I spread 0-7-30 when sowing my new lawn, but it has some yellow patches. What should I use to bring it to a nice green color, and is it safe to spray for dock leaves at this time?
Yellow patches in a new lawn can be caused by poor soil, uneven feeding, or excessive drainage. To give a boost to the grass, apply a light dressing of high-nitrogen fertiliser, such as autumn lawn feed or sulphate of ammonia (20g per square metre). For weed control, begin mowing the lawn and wait until May to apply weed control.
