How can I hide pylons from view and enhance the look of my garden?
I have some pylons that are visible from my house, and with the leaves falling off the trees, they look even closer. What is the best way to cover them up, and what are the best trees or other options to make my garden look beautiful and draw attention away from the pylons? Also, where is the best place to buy these trees?
The design principle to hide a big obstacle like a power pylon is to have blocking trees or other objects close to the observer. Start by looking out of the windows of the main rooms to see where to place groups of trees, hiding the unsightly objects and framing any attractive views within the garden or outside your property. Creating attractive views within the garden can be done by planting a pond, summer house, statue, or specimen tree. When planting groups of trees, use a mix of deciduous and evergreen trees, with approximately one-third of the number in evergreens. You can choose almost any tree that suits your fancy and your soil conditions.
