How to care for an indoor Cheese plant?

I have a beautiful Cheese plant that is approximately 4ft high and has been growing leaves every day for the past few years. It is in a bright room with no direct sun but is warm. However, this week it has lost approximately 4 leaves each day. Should I withhold water (it's quite dry)? Additionally, I have some Ficus plants that supposedly like water. Should I stop watering them for the winter? They are very healthy and in a bright room with warmth.

If a plant that has grown well for some years is suddenly not doing well, you need to think about any changes in care that you have made or any events that might have caused the plant to struggle. This could include changes in position, feeding, light, or watering. For the Cheese plant, it should not be too dry but not too wet either, just barely moist, even slightly dry on the surface of the compost. You can withhold water until it recovers or just give it a small amount of water. Also, avoid feeding it until April, and only if it seems to be doing better by then. As for the Ficus plants, it is best to continue watering them as they do require consistent moisture.
