Recommendations for Thin and Tall Trees to Replace Ginkgos
I would like to replace two ginkgos with two thin and tall trees. Can you suggest any suitable options and when is the best time to plant them?
Ginkgos can be pruned to be narrow trees if necessary. As for tree recommendations, Thuja 'Smaragd' and Chamaecyparis 'Kilmacurragh' are both narrow options. Additionally, the Japanese umbrella pine, or Sciadopitys, is very elegant and also narrow. As for planting, the best time would be during the dormant season, which is typically between November and March.
