What is the best location for a shed in a small north-facing garden?

I have a shed that is 10' x 6' in size and located at the back of my small north-facing garden. It is currently facing the patio doors on the west side, where the sun lasts longer in the evenings. I am planning to put down a patio, but I am not sure if I should place it near the house or at the back of the garden. Is it unsightly to have the shed facing the patio doors, especially if we put the patio in front of it? What options do I have?

It is best to have a paved area in a sunny spot, but the area close to the house is the most used and most convenient. Therefore, you could consider placing the patio near the house by the patio doors. If you have enough space, you could also consider having two small paved areas, one near the house and one at the back of the garden. Even a small area of 2 metres by 2 metres can be suitable for a small table and chair set, which can be decorative and help to distract from the shed. As for the shed, you can paint it to improve its appearance and use plants, such as climbers, to soften its look.
